The missions of the MGSD have been defined in its constitutional text as
missions attempting to respond to the need for information and training in
diabetology on both sides of the Mediterranean.
After years of experience, it appeared to the successive Presidents that
the Group's main mission is to provide quality information to health professionals
in charge of diabetic patients and training to the youngest doctors in this
field.
Thus, in addition to the 2-yearly conference and post-graduate courses
in French and English organised every year, fellowships are also proposed
in order to further that training within teams of international repute.
The emphasis placed on training has encouraged the Board to develop a Web site
to improve the distribution of information and educational material to Group
members.
