Furthered specialized medical training in the Cliniques Universitaires St. Raphael/Gasthuisberg [Leuven, Belgium] and the Royal Maternity Hospital [Belfast, N. Ireland].

Current employment: Consultant Obstetrician-Gynaecologist & Consultant i/c Diabetic Pregnancy Joint Clinic, Department of Health, Malta; Professor and Head of Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Faculty of Medicine & Surgery and Professor in Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Malta; Specialist Obstetrician-Gynaecologist in Private Practice.
Serves as Hospitaller & Historian to the Grand Priory of the Maltese Islands of the Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem.

Research Interests: Reproductive epidemiology and diabetes & medical disorders in pregnancy. Maltese history with emphasis on medical history. Natural sciences particularly in the fields of geology, herpetology and mammalogy.
