Missions

The missions of the MGSD have been defined in its constitutional text as missions attempting to respond to the need for information and training in diabetology on both sides of the Mediterranean.

Special emphasis is put on providing students and young doctors with training programs offering them access to the latest developments in diabetes, and helping them to acquire the specific skills required to conduct broad national studies, by means of two postgraduate courses and various funding research in teams of international repute.

The MGSD has for several years invested in the conduct of various studies in diabetes focused on the improvement of diabetes education and diagnosis.

In parallel to its educational activities, and in order to provide opportunities for exchanges between students and professionals, the MGSD holds a meeting every two years during which international speakers give original presentations, and students and experts engage in interactive sessions.

The emphasis placed on training has encouraged the Board to develop a Web site to improve the distribution of information and educational material to Group members.
